Happy Diwali
Diwali is one of the major religious festivals of the Sanatan community. Apart from Hindus, Sikhs and Jains observe similar festivals. The word Diwali means gathering of many lamps. Diwali festival is celebrated to remove evil energy and evil from family and society. The Hindu community observes this day after the harvest at the end of summer and beginning of autumn. According to Sanatan community Dharma gurus, Sri Ramachandra returned to Ayodhya after fourteen years of exile on the day of Diwali. Returning to Ayodhya, he illuminated his palace with lamps. According to this tradition, Diwali is celebrated on the Krishna Troyodashi tithi of the month of Ashwin. Bhutthurdashi, Amavasya Utsav and Vaiphonta Utsav are celebrated on the days following Diwali respectively.
During Diwali there are customs of wearing new clothes, preparing different types of traditional food and visiting the homes of relatives and friends. Apart from India, in Nepal, Sri Lanka, Myanmar and many other countries where Hindu communities live, the days are celebrated with great festivity and joy. As the day is a public holiday, workers, professionals, traders and students attend various events and enjoy a lot.
Roads, government institutions, important buildings, educational institutions are clean and colorful lights are used everywhere. As this day is a public holiday, filmmakers don't live this day as the release day of their new movie. Diwali is a very old festival, as stone and copper Sanskrit inscriptions mention Diwali. In some regions Lakshmi Puja and Kali Puja are organized after Diwali. On the fifth day, a beautiful relationship is created between brothers and sisters through the fraternity or Bai-phota ceremony. By performing this ceremony, the sister wishes for a long life for her brother.
Different types of fairs are organized in rural areas around the Diwali festival. In these fairs, artists, artisans of various industries, arrange their artworks for sale, food and beauty shops are opened. Diwali has a lot of economic importance. Thousands of crores of rupees of economic transactions are done all over India based on the Diwali event alone. Fireworks manufacturers produce different types of firecrackers throughout the year focusing only on the Diwali event. During this time thousands of firecrackers cause serious pollution to the environment, especially air pollution. Moreover, noise pollution causes hearing problems in children and the elderly. We should use less firecrackers in the interest of a good environment.
